刺と骨のようじ　Thorn and bone toothpicks


世界で木製のようじが作られるようになってまだ100年少しです。

それまで天然素材のようじが使われていました。その内の一つです。

とげは先が尖っていますから簡単に楊枝になります。右からサイカチ、カラタチ、ヤシのようじで左端が骨製のようじです。主にヨーロッパで使われていました。

骨も狩猟民族にとっては身近に沢山ある素材です。写真の左端です。これは野兎の骨のようじです。

両方とも我々にない合理的な考え方がよく出ています。

これらは日本大学の林業学の加藤正義先生のコレクションで活用して下さいと寄贈して下さいました。



Only 100 years and bits have passed, since wooden toothpicks have been made. Until then many kinds of natural material were used.

I want to show few samples. The thorn toothpicks could become toothpicks easily. On photo from right side　thorne toothpick of trifoliate orange, honey locust, ccconut palm and bone of rabit.

Bone is also very familiar material for hanting people.

They were used mainly in Europe.

These toothpicks present rational idea which we Japanese do not have. Mr. T. Kato (proffesor of foresty of Nihon university ) presented us for the study.
